Original graphite drawing by Jerry De La Cruz "Candy" signed framed

This is an original graphite and crayon drawing on paper by American artist Jerry De La Cruz (b 1948, Denver, CO). The work is a vertical format, 15” high by 10” wide. The framed size of the work is 24” high by 19” wide. The subject is a delicate bust-high female portrait. The young woman faces the viewer, her head tipped slightly to the side, her eyes gazing downward. She wears a simple smock. Her hair is long and loose, falling down behind her shoulders. She has a red rose in her hair, above her left ear, which provides the only color to the image which is otherwise simply graphite on white paper. The work is titled “Candy,” the name of the model. It is in pristine condition and signed front center left. The work is double matted in the same soft white of the paper, all papers being 100% rag content. The frame is a custom wood frame, two-tone in painted gold and black, ready to hang.
