This piece is rare and in excellent condition. The lid of this inkwell depicts a young couple looking at a musical score as he plays a violin, kneeling by her side. The base shows beautifully hand painted flowers and ribbon and has the holes to hold two ink pots. There is still gold trim, though some of it has worn away. In wonderful condition for its age. No chips or cracks. There is a hand painted mark on each piece that I can't make out.
The piece is from between the late 1800's to early 1900's.
About 3 1/2" tall x 2 1/2" wide.
